Hypnotherapy for a Fear of New Environments.

Hypnotherapy could support you to overcome your fear of new environments.
Are you worrying about starting a new job?
Does going to an unknown venue stress you out?
Will you be off to university soon and all the changes that entails are making you scared?
Its common to feel anxious about a change from your normal environment. It can make you sweaty, have nightmares, racing thoughts, feel sick, or dizzy.
Sometimes you can even become afraid of being afraid and get into a spiral, with no one specific cause,
What is causing you to feel this way?
These symptoms are due to adrenalin being produced by your body. This is your body’s way of keeping safe from danger. When we were hunter gatherers, we had to decide whether to run or stay and fight when facing danger. These dangers don’t exist now.
What does Adrenalin do to the body?
When adrenalin is produced, it prepares the body for fight or flight. It sends the blood to the major muscles, so they are strong and ready. It diverts this blood from areas like the digestive system. This is why you feel sick, breathe rapidly, have a dry mouth. Less blood goes to your brain, so you can feel lightheaded. You become sweaty.
What can you do to stop this?
By simply taking control of the speed of your breathing, you can stop the adrenalin being produced. Once no more adrenalin is being produced then the circulating adrenalin can be broken down. To break down all the adrenalin in your blood stream, it takes just three minutes. This means, that if you can control your breathing for three minutes, you will be feeling normal again.
What is hypnotherapy and how can it help?
Hypnotherapy itself is a really relaxing process. During a session you will learn how to relax. This will help you learn how to control your breathing and stop the adrenalin being produced. We will practice this technique, until you feel comfortable doing it yourself when necessary.
During a session, you are always in control.
What is the hypnotised state?
The hypnotised state is a state you were in as you woke up this morning and will be in as you drift off to sleep again tonight. Its the bit between being fully conscious and being asleep.
In this lovely relaxed state, we can practice making you feel anxious, panicked. Then we will practice using what you have learnt to calm down and stop the adrenalin being produced.
Practicing while hypnotised helps to implant the technique firmly in your unconscious, so it is ready to use when you need to.
Hypnotherapy can help you change your response to new environments and take back control of your life.
