Have you a performance coming up soon?

Is it your debut?

Did you finally get the part you wanted?

Maybe it’s the first time you’ve played the lead?

Hypnotherapy can help you overcome stage fright. At Hylands Hypnotherapy, I teach you how to relax on stage, so you can do your best and even enjoy yourself.

Can I really enjoy a myself knowing everyone is watching me?

Absolutely, we can use the session to practice, while learning how to relax at the same time, so you can find out what works for you and learn how to use the techniques when you need them.

Once we have found what will work for you, I will put you into a lovely trance like state where you can practice these situations in your head, while relaxing and while you can imagine a hostile audience or heckling, what ever it might be.

Then when you come back into the real world and are actually on stage, being able to relax yourself and so think clearly will be second nature to you.

How does hypnotherapy work?

Hypnotherapy in itself is a relaxing process. Being able to relax in a stressful situation like acting can really help you to think clearly. When you can take your time, feel in control and think clearly, it’s possible to enjoy the moment, knowing you are presenting the best possible version of you.

This  a process you can use yourself at home. What we will do in the session, which lasts about one hour, is delve into what is going on for you. We will then look at strategies to overcome this and find our what works best for you.

Next we relax you into a lovely hypnotised state and practice these techniques. This puts the techniques into your unconscious mind so they are there for you when you next need them.

You will leave feeling lovely and relaxed and with a plan and techniques to use at home.

What does it feel like?

This relaxed state is something you experience at least twice every day. Its the lovely relaxed state you pass through as you wake each morning and drift off to sleep each evening.

You’ll Never Relax Me.

I’ll relax you from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. If you’re thinking, “You’ll never relax me” Don’t worry, I’ve never failed yet and I’ve had some tough cookies. Once you’re relaxed, then the work of enforcing all we’ve discussed, starts.

Who is Karen Baker?

Thats me. I’ve been a clinical hypnotherapist since 2008. I’ve loved being able to help people ever since.

What made me train to become a hypnotherapist?

Believe it or not, because my then boyfriend, quit smoking with the help of hypnotherapy. He thought I’d be interested because my degree is in Psychology, but to be honest I thought it was a bit mumbo jumbo, until I started my course.

It took three months of him nagging me, to make me finally give in and find a course I felt comfortable with. From day one, I loved it, I could see how it worked and I couldn’t wait to start helping people.

What makes me Successful?

I love meeting people and finding out what’s going on for them. Then figuring out a plan to overcome whatever is holding them back. I use this information and plan to strengthen their unconscious mind and make them change their behaviour to overcome their problem.
