Hypnotherapy for Insomnia.

Have you realised you’ve not had a good night’s sleep in years?

You’ve spent a fortune on sleep remedies, tablets, sprays, rubs?

Are you exhausted, and just want to be able to fall asleep and stay asleep until morning?

At Hylands Hypnotherapy, I teach you how to use your unconscious mind to assist you to fall asleep and drift off again if you wake in the night.

Can I really finally sleep?

Yes, and we can practice this in the session, so you can find out what works for you and learn how to use the techniques at home.

How does hypnotherapy for insomnia work?

Hypnotherapy in itself is relaxing and is a process you can use at home. What we will do in the session, which lasts about one hour, is delve into what is going wrong for you. We will then look at strategies to overcome this and practice these once hypnotised.

Practicing techniques while hypnotised uses your unconscious mind and therefore stores the memory there. This makes the memories easier to retrieve once you are back at home.

You will leave feeling lovely and relaxed and with a plan and techniques to use at home.

What My Clients Say.

“My wife’s ability to have a good night’s sleep had gradually worsened with age – both falling asleep, and staying asleep.  As soon as she closed her eyes, her brain seemed to become overactive with a miscellany of thoughts.  She tried many remedies, to no real effect.  She had reached a stage where she did not expect to fall asleep after going to bed.  Desperate to get some help for her, I decided to look for a hypnotherapist in our area, and that’s how I came across Karen at Hylands Hypnotherapy.  My wife’s had two sessions with Karen, and I was present for each.  The main areas covered were breathing and relaxation, and connecting a “preparing-for-bed” activity with an anticipation of sleep.  Following the treatments, I think it’s fair to say that my wife’s sleep has improved, both in falling to sleep initially and getting to sleep again after waking in the night.  That’s not to say that she doesn’t still have some sleep problems, but she now expects to go to sleep, in contrast to her previous negative associations with going to bed.”

Meet Karen Baker

Thats me.

I’ve been a clinical hypnotherapist since 2008. I’ve loved being able to  help people ever since.

What made me train to become a hypnotherapist?

Believe it or not, because my then boyfriend, quit smoking with the help of hypnotherapy. He thought I’d be interested because my degree is in Psychology, but to be honest I thought it was a bit mumbo jumbo, until I started my course.

It took three months of him nagging me, to make me finally give in and find a course I felt comfortable with. From day one, I loved it, I could see how it worked and I couldn’t wait to start helping people.

Why do My Clients Succeed?

love meeting people and finding out what’s going on for them. Then figuring out a plan to overcome whatever is holding them back. I use this information and plan to strengthen their unconscious mind and make them change their behaviour to overcome their problem.

FAQs

Can I claim my treatment on my health insurance?

Yes, you can with some insurance companies. I’m registered with CNHC, so check your policy.

Will I be able to drive after my hypnotherapy session?

Yes, you will be fine to drive, assuming you could drive before the session. You will feel lovely and relaxed and will have time to feel normal, before you leave.

You won't be able to get me into a hypnotised state.

I have heard this a few times, some people are certainly more difficult than others, but everyone is able to reach that day dream like state which is needed for hypnotherapy to be successful.

Where do hypnotherapy sessions take place?

Generally speaking it’s best if you come to me, so the environment is quiet and there are no interruptions from family or friends.
