Hypnotherapy for Public Speaking and Interview techniques.

Have you a speech to give soon?

Maybe it’s a big presentation at work?

The job market is tough at the moment and you’ve finally managed to secure an interview, or you want to be prepared for when you do?

At Hylands Hypnotherapy, I teach you how to relax in stressful situations so you can present yourself in the best possible way.

Can I really enjoy an interview or speaking in public?

Absolutely, we can use the session to practice, while learning how to relax at the same time, so you can find out what works for you and learn how to use the techniques when you need them.

How does hypnotherapy work?

Hypnotherapy in itself is a relaxing process. Being able to relax in a stressful situation like an interview or speaking in public can really help you to think clearly. When you can take your time, feel in control and think clearly, it’s possible to enjoy the moment, knowing you are presenting the best possible version of you.

This  a process you can use yourself at home. What we will do in the session, which lasts about one hour, is delve into what is going on for you. We will then look at strategies to overcome this and find our what works best for you.

Next we relax you into a lovely hypnotised state and practice these techniques. This puts the techniques into your unconscious mind so they are there for you when you next need them.

You will leave feeling lovely and relaxed and with a plan and techniques to use at home.

Meet Karen Baker

That’s me.

I’ve been a clinical hypnotherapist since 2008 and have helped many people over the years.

Ironically, the reason I first became interested in hypnotherapy was because my then boyfriend successfully quit smoking through hypnosis. At the time, I was very sceptical – despite having a degree in Psychology. He basically nagged me, over three months, to look into it!

Once I began training, I quickly understood how powerful the connection between the unconscious mind and behaviour can be. From day one, I loved helping people create positive change in their lives.

A Real Life Case Study

Kate came to see me because she had to take part in a panel in front of the public. She had to present and then the audience could ask the panel questions. She was terrified she would freeze and wouldn’t be able to answer the questions and she wasn’t over keen on presenting either.

We practiced her presentation, while making her picture the audience in front of her. She learned techniques to help her relax while I created a hostile environment for her. Kate came to see me a couple of times and practiced in-between the sessions too.

After the presentation and question session, Kate rang me, absolutely buzzing. She wanted to thank me and tell me how well it had gone and how much she had enjoyed herself.

Why Do My Clients Succeed?

I love meeting people and finding out what’s going on for them. Then figuring out a plan to overcome whatever is holding them back. I use this information and plan to strengthen their unconscious mind and make them change their behaviour to overcome their problem.

I take the time to understand what you need to do to succeed. Then we will work out a plan, specific to you, which we will practice under hypnotherapy, to strengthen the processes.

FAQs

Can I claim my treatment on my health insurance?

Yes, you can with some insurance companies. I’m registered with CNHC, so check your policy.

Will I be able to drive after my hypnotherapy session?

Yes, you will be fine to drive, assuming you could drive before the session. You will feel lovely and relaxed and will have time to feel normal, before you leave.

You won't be able to get me into a hypnotised state.

I have heard this a few times, some people are certainly more difficult than others, but everyone is able to reach that day dream like state which is needed for hypnotherapy to be successful.

Where do hypnotherapy sessions take place?

Generally speaking it’s best if you come to me, so the environment is quiet and there are no interruptions from family or friends.
