Quit Smoking with Hypnotherapy

Quit smoking once and for all.

Have you tried to stop smoking before, only to find yourself going back to cigarettes during stressful moments, social situations or difficult days?

Perhaps you’ve tried nicotine patches, vaping, gum, willpower or self-help books, but still felt like part of you was fighting against the decision to quit.

At Hylands Hypnotherapy, I help people stop smoking by working with the unconscious mind – the part of the brain responsible for habits, behaviours and emotional triggers. Instead of relying purely on willpower, hypnotherapy helps you begin thinking and responding like a non-smoker.

Can I Really Stop Smoking?

If you’re ready to quit smoking for good, you’re probably already imagining what life could feel like without cigarettes.

Feeling healthier and fitter.

Breathing more easily.

Smelling fresher.

Having more energy.

Enjoying more time with the people you love.

And no longer feeling controlled by smoking.

Most clients come to me after years of trying to quit unsuccessfully. Hypnotherapy offers a different approach by helping bring your unconscious mind in line with your conscious desire to stop smoking.

How Does Stop Smoking Hypnotherapy Work?

Smoking is rarely just about nicotine. Over time, it becomes linked to routines, emotions, stress, habits and identity.

Hypnotherapy works by helping you change your “smoker mentality” and reduce the emotional reliance on cigarettes or vaping, especially during stressful situations.

Instead of feeling deprived, many people leave their session feeling calmer, more in control and able to think like a non-smoker.

Your stop smoking hypnotherapy session lasts approximately 1½ hours and includes:

• A personalised hypnotherapy session

• Telephone support

• A free follow-up session if needed

Most clients find their cravings dramatically reduced or eliminated after just one session.

Hypnotherapy can help you quit smoking and vaping.

Can Hypnotherapy Help Me Stop Vaping?

Yes. If you’ve switched from smoking to vaping, or have only ever vaped, hypnotherapy can still help.

Vaping often creates the same emotional habits, routines and dependency patterns as smoking. Hypnotherapy helps address those underlying triggers so you can feel more in control and move forward without relying on vaping.

What Clients Say

“After trying every conventional way to stop smoking I went to see Karen. Hypnosis took all the stress out of giving up. It was amazing! Even other people lighting up doesn’t bother me now. I feel healthier and happier.”

— Adam, Knutsford

Meet Karen Baker

That’s me.

I’ve been a clinical hypnotherapist since 2008 and have helped people stop smoking for many years. Most clients only require one session, although additional support is always available if life events or stressful situations cause setbacks.

Ironically, the reason I first became interested in hypnotherapy was because my then boyfriend successfully quit smoking through hypnosis. At the time, I was very sceptical – despite having a degree in Psychology. He basically nagged me, over three months, to look into it!

Once I began training, I quickly understood how powerful the connection between the unconscious mind and behaviour can be. From day one, I loved helping people create positive change in their lives.

Why Do My Clients Succeed?

Every person has their own reason for wanting to stop smoking.

For some, it’s health.

For others, it’s family, confidence, money or simply wanting freedom from cigarettes.

I take the time to understand what truly motivates you, then use those motivations within the hypnotherapy process to help strengthen your commitment to becoming smoke-free.

FAQs

Can I claim my treatment on my health insurance?

Yes, you can with some insurance companies. I’m registered with CNHC, so check your policy.

Will I be able to drive after my hypnotherapy session?

Yes, you will be fine to drive, assuming you could drive before the session. You will feel lovely and relaxed and will have time to feel normal, before you leave.

You won't be able to get me into a hypnotised state.

I have heard this a few times, some people are certainly more difficult than others, but everyone is able to reach that day dream like state which is needed for hypnotherapy to be successful.

Can you make me stop smoking? I need to stop smoking.

I can help people who want to change their behaviour, I cannot make you do anything you don’t want to, or help you change if you have just been told you need to.

Where do hypnotherapy sessions take place?

Generally speaking it’s best if you come to me, so the environment is quiet and there are no interruptions from family or friends.
